president of a life insurance company before becoming the president of an international
insurance marketing company. He attended elementary school and middle school in
Middletown Ohio, and graduated from Lemon Monroe High School, also located in
Middletown. He then graduated from Olivet University with a major in business and a minor
in economics. He lives with his wife, Donna, in the Villas of Twin Eagles. They have three
children, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, which are spread from Texas to
New York with points in between. In his spare time (currently serving on five boards), he
enjoys golf, photography (which he has studied at IUPU), music, and concerts. His proudest
accomplishment in life is his beautiful, loving family.

Duff initially became a member when he completed his deceased first wife’s term on the board.
He enjoys being on the school board because he loves being a part of our excellent school district,
which he sees as one of the very best in Indiana. Before his term is over, Don expects to see the
continual improvement that will make it one of the very best school districts in the Midwest.

Paul Sloffer

Paul Sloffer, Northwest Allen County School Board Member, is a full time grain farmer.
He attended Huntertown Elementary and Middle School, and was a member of the first graduating
class from Carroll High School in 1969. He then graduated from Purdue University in Lafayette in
1973. He lives with his wife Barbara and has two sons and one daughter of his own, as well as two
stepsons. In his free time he enjoys bow hunting and spending time with his eight grandchildren.
His proudest moments in life were when his three children were born.

Sloffer decided to run for the school board because he has always been involved in some
aspect of education and he felt it was a good way to contribute to the education system. He cannot
pinpoint just one proud moment of being on the school board; however, he is very proud of the
facilities and the staff of the Northwest Allen County Schools. Before his term is over, he hopes to
complete the entire building process and get to the point where the growing levels off, and the need
for building and expanding is no longer necessary.
