REGULAR MEETING


The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members present: Kent Somers, Liz Hathaway, Paul Sloffer, and John Hilger. Ron Felger was absent. Also present: Chris Himsel, Gloria Shamanoff, Bill Mallers, staff, students, patrons and reporters.

President Kent Somers called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the minutes of the February 29, 2016 regular meeting as presented by Paul Sloffer; seconded by Liz Hathaway. Motion carried.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT


A. ANNEXATION Mr. Himsel provided an overview of information provided earlier in the day by the City of Fort Wayne in regards to their proposed annexation.


BUSINESS REPORT

A. NATATORIUM ROOFING PROJECT BIDS Recommended Fort Wayne Roofing & Sheet Metal at a bid of $208,400 for the natatorium Roofing project. Motion to approve by John Hilger; seconded by Liz Hathaway. Motion carried.


B. RESOLUTION CAPITAL PROJECTS Recommended approval of the enclosed Capital Projects Emergency Resolution for $19,428.75. Motion to approve by Paul Sloffer; seconded by Liz Hathaway. Motion carried.


Motion to approve claims and payroll, subject to audit, by Liz Hathaway; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.

Board Comments: Kent Somers commented that he appreciated the time given by the City of Fort Wayne with representatives of NACS.
