REGULAR MEETING

The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Monday,June 10, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members present: Mary Wysong, John Hilger, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger and Kent Somers. Also present: ChrisHimsel, Gloria Shamanoff, Bill Mallers, Lisa Harris, staff, students, parents, patronsand reporters.

Motions herewith mentioned are unanimousunless otherwise stated.

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the minutes of theMay 28, 2013 regular meeting as presented by Ron Felger; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.

COMMENDATIONS

Dr. Shamanoff presented thefollowing commendations: The Carroll High School Band is a recipient of the Indiana State School Music Association All-Music Award for 2012-13. Tyler Hands, CHS Junior, has completed requirements for Eagle Scout. His final project included building four wooden benches at Salomon Farm Park in Fort Wayne, IN.

Carroll High School Sophomore,Anneke Lehmann, has received the winning award of the District 3 Congressional Art Competition and will have her work displayed at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. for the next year. Dr.Shamanoff requested the resolution be adopted as presented. Motion to approve by John Hilger; seconded by Paul Sloffer. Motion carried.

Carroll High School Girls Track Team competed in the IHSAA State Track Finals. Members Include Makenzie Bevineau, Caitlyn Chastain, Sara Crawford, Madison Fruchey,Abby Harper, Olivia Hippensteel, Kori Leonard, Clair MacDonald, Kyley Marano,Sara McKeeman, Stacey Metzger, Kaitlin Murphy, Arden Piepho, Melanie Ruich, Amy Poynter, Madison Stenger and Londyn Wise. Sara Mckeeman won the State Championship in Pole Vault with a height of 12'3". Dr. Shamanoff requested the resolution be adopted as presented. Motion to approve by Ron Felger; seconded by Kent Somers. Motion Carried.

Carroll High School Girls Tennis Team advanced to the IHSAA State Tennis Tournament for the first time. Members include Alexandra Bojrab, Catherine Curtis, Annica Duffner,Ashley Hoagland, Jenna Jackson, Brittany Keuneke, Audrey Mallers, Makenzie Schoeff, Melissa Soden, Rachel Sutton and Taylor Stanchin. Dr. Shamanoff requested the resolution be adopted as presented. Motion to approve by Paul Sloffer; seconded by John Hilger. Motion Carried.

Carroll High School Boys Track Team competed in the IHSAA State Track Finals. Members include Tony Armstrong, Eric Claxton, Alex Crabill, Kyle Gater, Jonathan Harper, Alex Hess,Josh Holmes, Ross Marano, Will Ottenweller, Kevin Salter, Ben Schwartz and Anderson Smith. The Relay Team of Eric Claxton, Kyle Gater, Jonathan Harper and Alex Hess won the State Championship in the 4 x 800 Relay with a time of 7:40.14 setting a new state record previously set by the Chargers last year.Dr. Shamanoff requested the resolution be adopted as presented. Motion to approve by Kent Somers; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.
