EXECUTIVE SESSION

The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in executive session on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Central Office. Members present: Mary Wysong, John Hilger, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger and Kent Somers. Also Present: Chris Himsel, Gloria Shamanoff and Bill Mallers.

I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b) 2(A): For discussion of strategy with respect to collective bargaining.

Mr.Himsel presented information regarding performance-based compensation schedule.No further business was discussed.

I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b) 2(B): For discussion with respect to initiation of litigation or litigation that is either pending or has been threatened specifically in writing.

Mr. Himsel and Mr. Mallers presented information regarding litigation. No further business was discussed.

I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b) 2(D): For discussion of the purchase or lease of real property.

Mr. Himsel and Mr. Mallers presented information regarding a land purchase. No further business was discussed.

I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b) 9: To discuss a job performance evaluation of individual employees.

Mr. Mallers and Dr. Shamanoff were dismissed. Mr.Himsel presented information regarding employee evaluation. No other business was discussed.

REGULAR MEETING

The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Monday,February 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members Present: Mary Wysong, John Hilger, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger and Kent Somers. Also Present: Chris Himsel, Gloria Shamanoff, Bill Mallers, Lisa Harris, staff, patrons and reporters.

Motions herewith mentioned are unanimous unless otherwise stated.

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the minutes of the February 11, 2013 regular meeting as presented by Paul Sloffer; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.

  1. GIFT/GRANT/DONATION ACCEPTANCEDeb Neumeyer, Carroll High Principal, requested permission to accept a donation of photography supplies from Tom Galliher. The estimated value of the items is $2,000.00. Deb Neumeyer,Carroll High Principal, requested permission to accept a donation of $750.00from Indiana Youth Institute to be used for photography education conference expenses for Nicole Croy. Motion to approve by Kent Somers; seconded by PaulS offer. Motion carried.
  2. FACILITY USERichard Vorick, Hickory Center Principal, requested permission for the Three Rivers Velo Sport Club to conduct a bicycle ride starting from Hickory Center parking lot as part of the Three Rivers Festival with the facility use fees waived. The club will pay a custodian for the time the building is open. Motion to approve by Paul Sloffer;seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.
  3. SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVISORY BOARDMr. Himsel asked that the Board elect a representative for the Special Education Advisory Board. Mary Wysong asked for a nomination. John Hilger nominated Paul Sloffer; seconded byRon Felger. Paul Sloffer was elected to be the NACS Special Education Advisory Board Representative.

Motion to approve claims and payroll, subject to audit, by Kent Somers; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.
