CAPITAL PROJECTS PLAN HEARING

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Bill Miller Presented the three-year plan and how it will be used in NACS. The plan presented a total budget of $5,962,919,for 2014. The Plan was discussed. The projects were discussed and board questions were answered. There were no audience comments. The Capital Projects Plan is scheduled for adoption on October 14, 2013. Motion to adjourn the hearing by John Hilger;seconded by Ron Felger. Motion carried. Hearing adjourned.

BUS REPLACEMENT PLAN HEARING

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Bill Miller Presented the twelve-year bus replacement plan with the recommendation to budget for the replacement of nine buses as advertised for 2014 for a total of$960,400. Buses to be replaced in 2014 include: six 78-passenger buses; two 54-passenger special education buses and one 15-passenger activity bus. The Bus Replacement Plan was discussed and board questions answered. There were no audience comments. The Bus Replacement Plan adoption is scheduled for October 14, 2013. Motion to adjourn the hearing by Paul Sloffer; seconded by Kent Somers. Motion carried. Hearing adjourned.

BUDGET HEARING

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Bill Mallers presented the proposed 2014 budget for the following funds:

General Fund $ 38,925,614

Debt Service Fund $ 15,804,321

Capital Projects Fund $ 5,962,919

Transportation Fund $ 3,075,400

Bus Replacement Fund $ 960,400

TOTAL $ 64,728,654

The budget was discussed and board questions answered. There were no audience comments. The Budget adoption is scheduled for October 14, 2013. Motion to adjourn the hearing by Paul Sloffer; seconded by John Hilger.Motion carried. Hearing adjourned.

REGULAR MEETING

The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Monday,September 30, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members Present: Mary Wysong, John Hilger, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger and Kent Somers. Also Present: Chris Himsel, Gloria Shamanoff, Bill Mallers, Lisa Harris, staff,patrons and reporters.

Motions herewith mentioned are unanimous unless otherwise stated.

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the minutes of the September 9, 2013 executive session and regular meeting and September 25, 2013 special meeting as presented by Paul Sloffer; seconded by Kent Somers. Motion carried.

COMMENDATIONS

GloriaShamanoff presented the following commendations: The CHS Culinary Arts and FCCLA teams both won silver medals in their events at the National FCCLA Culinary and National FCCLA Competition respectively in Nashville, Tennessee in July. Current state officers Marisa Sigmon and Jason Cardenas led India Throughout the week with leadership workshops. Mrs. Michelle Brown, NACS Speech-Language Pathologist, recently received a professional award for achievement from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association for completing 70 continuing education units in less than three years.

GloriaShamanoff read aloud and requested approval of the resolution in recognition of CHS Junior, James Jackson, for being honored and selected by the Indiana's Ambassadors of Music To perform in Europe during the Summer of 2014.
