CAPITAL PROJECTS PLAN HEARING

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Bill Mallers presented the three-year plan and how it will be used in NACS. The plan presented a total budget of $5,839,519, for 2015. The Plan was discussed. The projects were discussed and board questions were answered. There were no audience comments. The Capital Projects Plan is scheduled for adoption on October 13, 2014. Motion to adjourn the hearing by Kent Somers; seconded by Ron Felger. Motion carried. Hearing adjourned.

BUS REPLACEMENT PLAN HEARING

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Bill Mallers presented the twelve-year bus replacement plan with the recommendation to budget for the replacement of six buses and the addition of three buses as advertised for 2015 for a total of $1,003,632. Buses to be replaced in 2015 include six 66-passenger buses. Buses to be added include two 78-passenger buses and one 54-passenger special education bus. The Bus Replacement Plan was discussed and board questions answered. There were no audience comments. The Bus Replacement Plan adoption is scheduled for October 13, 2014. Motion to adjourn the hearing by Ron Felger; seconded by Paul Sloffer. Motion carried. Hearing adjourned.

BUDGET HEARING

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Bill Mallers presented the proposed 2015 budget for the following funds:

General Fund $ 39,994,270

Debt Service Fund $ 15,006,464

Capital Projects Fund $ 5,839,519

Transportation Fund $ 3,118,783

Bus Replacement Fund $ 1,003,632

TOTAL $ 64,962,668

The budget was discussed and board questions answered. There were no audience comments. The Budget adoption is scheduled for October 13, 2014. Motion to adjourn the hearing by John Hilger; seconded by Paul Sloffer. Motion carried. Hearing adjourned.

REGULAR MEETING

The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members present: Mary Wysong, John Hilger, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger and Kent Somers. Also present: Chris Himsel, Gloria Shamanoff, Bill Mallers, Lisa Harris, students, staff, patrons and reporters.

Motions herewith mentioned are unanimous unless otherwise stated.

A. FUND RAISER Requested approval of the enclosed fund raising requests from Carroll High School for the 2014-15 school year. Motion to approve by John Hilger; seconded by Paul Sloffer. Motion carried.

BUSINESS REPORT

A. RESOLUTION DRAINAGE EASEMENT Recommended the enclosed resolution which authorizes the conveyance of a drainage easement by the Northwest Allen County Middle School Building Corporation. Motion to approve by John Hilger; seconded by Ron Felger. Motion carried.

Mr. Himsel expressed appreciation to Mr. Frisinger, Allen County Surveyor, for assistance with this process.

B. CORPORATION PAYMENTS Recommended Building Corporation Payments - $229,020.10. Motion to approve by Paul Sloffer; seconded by Kent Somers. Motion carried.

Motion to approve claims and payroll, subject to audit, by Kent Somers; seconded by Paul Sloffer. Motion carried.

Board Comments: Mr. Felger commented on the City of Fort Wayne's proposed annexation at HWY 30 and Flaugh Road and whether or not it will affect Northwest Allen County Schools. Mr. Himsel reminded board members of the activities scheduled to take place at half-time of the CHS Football game on Friday, October 3rd.
