Our Commitment to Safety

At Northwest Allen County Schools, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community are our top priorities. We are dedicated to providing a secure environment that supports both physical and emotional safety for everyone in our schools.

Physical Safety:
We have implemented comprehensive security measures to ensure the physical safety of our students and staff. This includes secure building access, surveillance systems, and regular safety drills. 

Emotional Safety:
We believe that a safe school environment extends beyond physical security. Our district is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where every student feels valued and respected. 

Together, we strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

To report a concern such as potential violence, bullying, inappropriate behavior, suspicious activity, theft, etc., please use the “Report A Concern” button below.

When submitting your report, include as much detail as possible to assist with addressing the issue. Reports can be submitted anonymously. For immediate threats, please call 911.

  • PARENTS AND FAMILIES

    Northwest Allen County Schools requires a Limited Criminal History Background Check as well as a copy of driver's license for all volunteers, chaperones, and visitors working in our school in any capacity during the school year. These can be completed online and are valid for three years.

    All visitors will also be asked to provide a copy of your driver's license to the office upon entry. These will be scanned and a visitor sticker will be generated for the duration of your visit to our school. All background check information is kept confidential.

    Dear Parents,

    The E.P.A. "Friable Asbestos-Containing Materials in Schools" Identification and Notification Rule " (40CFR Part 763) requires that all public and private, primary and secondary schools inform all school employees and the school's Parent Teacher Organization, of the location of friable ACM within the building.

    The following is a "by-building" summary of the test results from the investigations conducted during the summer of 1988 by ATEC, Inc.

    Arcola Elementary School:1006 Arcola Rd., Arcola, IN 46704 Building contains both friable ACM and non-friable ACM.

    Carroll High School (10-12): 3901 Carroll Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46818 Building contains both friable ACM and non-friable ACM.

    Carroll Freshman Center: 3905 Carroll Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46818 Building is asbestos-free.

    Huntertown Elementary School: 15330 Lima Rd., Huntertown, In 46748 Building contains both friable ACM and non-friable ACM.

    Oak View Elementary School: 13123 Coldwater Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46845 Building is asbestos-free.

    Perry Hill School: 13121 Coldwater Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46845 Building is asbestos-free.

    Hickory Center Elementary School: 3606 Baird Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46818 Building is asbestos-free.

    Maple Creek Middle School: 425 Union Chapel Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46818 Building is asbestos-free.

    Natatorium: 3903 Carroll Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46818 Building is asbestos-free.

    Carroll Middle School: 4027 Hathaway Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46818 Building is asbestos-free

    Transportation Center: 12922 Corbin Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46845 Building is asbestos-free

    Cedar Canyon Elementary School: 15011 Coldwater Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46845 Building is asbestos-free

    Eel River Elementary School: 12723 Bethel Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46818 Building is asbestos-free

    Northwest Allen County Schools does have on file in the Northwest Allen County Schools administrative office and in each school office, an approved Asbestos Management plan which identifies the locations of friable materials.

    During 1989, 1990, 1991, 1996, 2003, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 friable and non-friable ACM was removed from the Arcola Elementary School, Carroll High School, and Huntertown School.

    Northwest Allen County Schools will continue to conduct semi-annual inspections of all areas containing friable asbestos at the three schools containing ACM as stated above.
