REGULAR MEETING

The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members present: Mary Wysong, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger and Kent Somers. John Hilger was absent. Also present: Chris Himsel, Gloria Shamanoff, Bill Mallers, Lisa Harris, staff, parents, patrons and a reporter.

Motions herewith mentioned are unanimous unless otherwise stated.

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the minutes of the July 28, 2014 regular meeting as presented by Ron Felger; seconded by Kent Somers. Motion carried.

BUSINESS REPORT

A. WATERLINE EASEMENT Recommended approval of the enclosed Potable Water Easement Agreement, which conveys a 10' waterline easement to Fort Wayne City Utilities along Gump Road at Cedar Canyon Elementary property, including:

1. City Utilities will bore under the Gump Road driveway entrance to Cedar Canyon Elementary avoiding

damage or need to close the drive during construction of the water main piping.

2. City Utilities will commit to relocating the eastern portion of the water main piping should NACS acquire

ownership of the contiguous corner lot currently owned by Gump Road Holdings LLC.

3. City Utilities will continue to commit to partner with the land developer of the proposed Timber Ridge

project to insure a sidewalk connection is constructed providing access to Cedar Canyon Elementary.

4. City Utilities will continue to commit to partner with the land developer of the proposed Timber Ridge

project to insure adequate drinking water and sanitary sewer piping is provided within access of the Cedar

Canyon Elementary for consideration as utility service option (but not requirement) for the future.

Mr. Himsel noted this is waterline only. Motion to approve by Paul Sloffer; seconded by Kent Somers. Motion carried.

B. CORPORATION PAYMENTS Building Corporation Payments - $378,172.50 Motion to approve by Kent Somers; seconded by Ron Felger. Motion carried.

Motion to approve claims and payroll, subject to audit, by Paul Sloffer; seconded by Ron Felger. Motion carried.

Board Comments: None

Audience Comments: Twila Patterson, parent, voiced a concern about class placement of her child. Mrs. Wysong explained this would be something to be addressed at the building level.
