SafeHire Background Check

Northwest Allen County Schools has partnered with Safe Hiring Solutions, Inc. to provide Background Checks on prospective employees. Background Checks include a Criminal Background Check, State Child Protection Index Check, National Sex Offender Check, and Teacher License History Check (if applicable), on a pre-employment basis as required by Indiana law.

Applicants will need to assemble important information prior to starting the Background Check process through Safe Hiring Solutions including:

  • Social Security Number
  • Teacher's License Number (s) and State(s) of Issue, if applicable
  • Addresses, including County, of residence dating back to January 1, 1988, or your date of birth, whichever is most recent.
  • Form of payment (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover)
    • Cost: $28.85 for certified staff for Allen County (plus $3.95 per each additional state teaching license)
    • $24.90 for non-certified staff (Including Substitute Teachers) for Allen County
    • Out of Allen County background checks will required an additional $5.95 per county/per name search.  Some counties will also charge court access fees. If you are being charged fees for out of state checks for states you have never resided in, please be sure to start a chat with Safe Hiring to dispute this so they can look into the error before you pay your fees.
