EXECUTIVE SESSION

The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in executive session on Monday, July 29, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. in the Central Office. Members present: Mary Wysong, John Hilger, Paul Sloffer, Ronald Felger, and Kent Somers. Also Present: Chris Himsel and Gloria Shamanoff.

I.C.5-14-1.5-6.1(b) 5: To receive information about and interview prospective employees.

The board interviewed a candidate for the principal position at Perry Hill Elementary School. The candidate was dismissed.

I.C.5-14-1.5-6.1(b) 2(A): For discussion of strategy with respect to collective bargaining.

Mr.Himsel presented information regarding collective bargaining.

No other business was discussed.

REGULAR MEETING

The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Monday,July 29, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members present: Mary Wysong, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger, John Hilger and Kent Somers. Also present: ChrisHimsel, Bill Mallers, Lisa Harris, staff, patrons and reporters.

Motions herewith mentioned are unanimous unless otherwise stated.

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the minutes of the July 8, 2013 regular meeting, the July 15, 2013 executive session and the July 24,2013 executive session as presented by Paul Sloffer; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.

EMERITUS RECOMMENDATIONS Recommended that NACScontract with Kathy Lepper to serve in an Emeritus position to mentor and assist her replacement in learning the CHS master scheduling process, the NACS state reporting process, and other duties related to the position for the 2013-14 school year. The position shall be compensated at an hourly rate equal to 75% of her previous salary for less than 30 hours per week and not to exceed 600 total hours within the next 12 months. Recommended that NACS contract withMarcia Rayl to serve in an Emeritus position to fulfill the duties of Autism/Behavior Consultant position. The position shall be compensated at an hourly rate equal to 75% of her previous salary and not to exceed 24 hours per week during the time period the currently employed teacher is on her approved maternity leave.

  1. HEALTH INSURANCERecommended the following: A 7% increase in health insurance premiums for the October 1, 2013 renewal with Anthem. Establishment Of a High Deductible Health Plan/Health Savings Account plan through Anthem,per specifications developed by the insurance committee, at premiums of$5,790.84 for a single plan and $14,298.41 for a family plan. Utilize HSA Authority, which is a division of Tower Bank, as the financial institution for the health savings accounts.
