REGULAR MEETING

The Northwest Allen County Board of School Trustees met in regular session on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room. Members present: Mary Wysong, John Hilger, Paul Sloffer, Ron Felger and Kent Somers. Also present: Chris Himsel, Gloria Shamanoff, Bill Mallers, Lisa Harris, staff, students, patrons and reporters.

Motions herewith mentioned are unanimous unless otherwise stated.

President Mary Wysong called the meeting to order. Motion to approve the minutes of the April 28, 2014 regular meeting as presented by Paul Sloffer; seconded by John Hilger. Motion carried.

PTO STUDENT ARTWORK PRESENTATION

JillCotant, CHS PTO Vice President, introduced NACS Student Artists and presented their artwork to the board. The artwork will be on display in the NACS Central Office for the upcoming school year.

PERSONNEL/COMMUNICATIONS

  1. RESIGNATIONSDave Behnke, Maple Creek Summer Custodian, resigned as of 4/25/14. Douglas Bryan, Arcola Teacher, resigned as of the end of the 2013-14 school year. Emily Johnson, Eel River Teacher, resigned as of the end of the 2013-14 school year. Dana Mitchell, Eel River Teacher, resigned as of the end of the 2013-14 school year. Nancy Shumlas, Carroll 9th Nurse, resigned as of the end of the 2013-14 school year. Zoe Zannis, Perry Hill Instructional Assistant, resigned as of June 13, 2014.

  3. PERMISSION TO POST/HIRE Requested permission topost/hire the following:Carroll High Certified and Classified staff for the 2014 Summer School Program as outlined in the enclosed memos. BUSINESS REPORT
